Hello! So, you have navigated here to read a little about me and my art. I’ll tell you one thing, I’m not a writer. I’m an artist. My medium is wool. I have found that most people are unfamiliar with needle felting. So here’s a brief overview but the main thing to remember is that it takes time and lots of it!!
My tools, unspun wool, also known as roving, and a barbed needle. That’s it! So, how do you get a handful of wool to look like a person? Stab it with a barbed needle. That’s it! Stab it hundreds of thousands of times while sculpting it into a human form. The stabing action causes the wool fibers to interlock and bind together creating felt.
Over the years I’ve worked in many mediums creating people and faces. I’ve had a passion for hats as long as I can remember. Combining the two just seemed to be a natural progression. My formal training is in interior design with a few figure drawing classes on the side. It’s the figure drawing classes that have given me the understanding of the human body required to create believable figures.
I hope that you enjoy my work!! And now… Back to creating!
